Political Season

Our world today is like an egg that has been dropped to the floor.
The egg splattering sprays  it up on the cabinet doors,
particles of the shell clinging to the slime as it oozes slowly to the floor.
That mess created by such a small item reflects the mess of our country
this political season. We are splattering and oozing with anger and ugliness,
with intolerance and hatred for anyone or anything we deem different.
The underbelly of society has been turned out for the world to see and it is
frightening, I don’t know if we can ever go back to a civilized country when
this is over or not.
I feel as anxious about this political season as I did the last month of my first
pregnancy.
