Klysta (pronounced like Krista but L rather than R) Klysta LaNell Breshears
For privacy 2nd daughter henceforth will be known as #2
and youngest as # 3…
Klysta’s sixteenth birthday I asked if she wanted a birthday party separate
from # 2’s as it was a special day she replied “Mom that wouldn’t be fair to #2,
you know how she likes to share everything with me” The more I tried to tell her I would talk with her sister and make her understand, the more she insisted they continue to share one celebration.
Years later, Klysta had surgery and I spent the night in her room with her and we ended up talking
until the wee hours (which was common for us) she told me how pleased it made her that I recognized that she needed something special that birthday and she thanked me for it. All I had done was order
a cake with the writing of their names, Happy Birthday and “From Crayons to Lipstick” on it with a box of crayons and a tube of lipstick. Said she didn’t mind the sharing but loved that I had done that.
I am so glad we had that night as two years later she was gone from this earth.
Throughout their adult lives they always celebrated their birthdays together whenever possible.
They shared as sisters are supposed to, and I am not so sure they didn’t at times exclude their little sister to the point of making an impact on her issues that she has today. I will never know I suppose
as I haven’t spoken with her in several years with the exception of when Klysta died, she couldn’t have been better than at that time, she was the level headed one that kept everyone focused through the steps of autopsy, cremation etc. then she was back out of our lives again. But that is another issue for another time.
Each of the girls felt they were an only child as they were far enough apart that as one went to school the other had me for a few years to themselves. I had to work of course but I always tried to drive a
school bus (migraine city) or work nights so that I could be with them during the day and that seemed
to work out well
Saying this reminded me of a day that I was cleaning and preparing dinner for later that night and it
was near time for Klysta to get home from school, I went to check on #2 who was playing in their bedroom. Oh my goodness was I shocked to see #2 sitting in the floor with ALL of her sisters Barbie dolls and each one had been disassembled I mean no heads , arms or legs just naked torsos being tossed in a pile as each one was done. Now you have to understand we are talking a multitude of dolls as every
occasion was a license for aunt’s uncles and grandparents try to top each other to get the most collectible, cutest outfit or accessories for Klystas collection, it was a large collection for that reason. #2 had been very efficient in removing all parts in a” time is of the essence manner” LOL
Oh, the argument I refereed that day.
